The uptick in violence in Iraq is increasing, and it has been reported that a series of five car bombs have been detonated at separate locations throughout Baghdad on Tuesday, killing 49 people and injuring over 160. This attack comes on the heels of three others that have occurred within that last several days
An earthquake that was measured at 7.2 on the Richter scale struck Baja California on Sunday, and residents report feeling its effects as far to the north as Santa Barbara. The quake was centered approximately 20 miles to the southeast of Mexicali. The shaking rattled San Diego and Los Angeles, but there were no reports of any damages or injuries.

A volcano has erupted in Iceland about 100 miles from Reykjavik, the country’s capital, and lava is flowing through a fissure that is about a half mile long.
